Support for Parents and Caregivers

At Four Directions Autism, we understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate services for a child with autism or developmental disabilities. That’s why our support is rooted in community, lived experience, and cultural understanding.
  • Here’s how our parent volunteers support families like yours:
  • Free 30-Minute Volunteer SessionsWe offer a free 30-minute session with a parent volunteer—someone who has personally navigated the systems and challenges you may be facing.
  • These sessions are a chance to ask questions, hear best practices, and receive guidance from someone who truly understands what you're going through.
Note: Our volunteers are not employees or certified professionals. They are caring parents donating their time to help others. For emergencies or urgent matters, please contact Jordan’s Principle or NIHB directly.

What Our Volunteers Can Help With:

At Four Directions Autism, we believe in community helping community. Our volunteers are here to listen, support, and share what they’ve learned—so you don’t have to face the journey alone.
  • Application Assistance Guidance with completing NIHB and Jordan’s Principle applications to help ensure equal access to health and medical services.
  • Information and Referrals

  • Connection to Culturally Aware Supports
Help connecting your family to service providers who are culturally appropriate and respectful of Indigenous traditions and values.
